Adriana Sanford serves as the Executive Director of ISSA-LA. She is a globally recognized international data privacy expert, California licensed lawyer, professor, and international TV commentator, who has educated thousands of professionals, students, and the public-at-large on a wide array of topics that focus on cybersecurity, global data privacy laws, and crisis management.  Having lived, studied, and worked on three continents, Sanford is a multilingual professional with fluency in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, as well as an understanding and literacy in Italian.

Sanford has a strong success record working with intelligence communities, as well as in the regulatory, law enforcement, corporate, legal, and cybersecurity sectors on pressing global challenges and corporate social responsibility. She works with many cross-cultural, cross-functional, multi-generational audiences. As an American Program Bureau keynote speaker, Sanford has provided 150+ keynote addresses, including at some of the world’s top technology, IT, cyber, security, legal, audit, and compliance industry conferences. She is a Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor on Global Privacy Laws at Claremont Graduate University.

Previously, Sanford served on the advisory committee of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Partnering Against Corruption Initiative and coauthored two books on global risks and threats that were adopted for the centennial celebration of the world’s largest and oldest institute for supply chain leaders, Institute for Supply Management. As a Speaking Faculty with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), she recently  presented on Behavior Ethics in the 4th Industrial Revolution and will be addressing the American Bar Association (ABA) – Senior Lawyers Division (SLD) in January 2023. For the second consecutive year during Microsoft’s Give Campaign, Sanford also provided the fireside chat on data privacy for the National Cyber Awareness Month of October with Microsoft’s CVP and Deputy CISO.

Among her recent significant accolades, Sanford was featured in Top Cyber News MAGAZINE. She also served as Keynote Speaker on Global Privacy Laws for the 2022 ISSA-LA Information Systems Security Summit XII in Los Angeles; Opening Keynote Speaker for the 2022 Cybersecurity Women of the Year (CSWY) Awards Gala in Las Vegas; Featured Privacy Law Speaker at 2022 InfoSec World Conference in Orlando; Keynote Speaker for the Los Angeles Cyber Lab – 2019 Security Summit; and recipient of the 2019 Cybersecurity – Privacy Woman Law Professional of the Year Award. Sanford is often described as an ‘audience grabber’ and as having “the unique ability to speak to students, captains of industry, and academicians all in the same audience.”  She is a strong voice in the local, national, and global InfoSec, academic, and Hispanic communities.
