
Adriana Sanford, dual LL.M., J.D., is a Chilean American award-winning global threats expert, former Fortune 10 regional counsel, author, professor, and international TV commentator, who appeared regularly as a CNN en Español senior analyst on privacy and cyber-related breaking news to 93+ million Spanish-speaking viewers throughout the Americas. Sanford is also an American Program Bureau thought leader, who provides the keynote addresses at some of the top technology, security, cyber, legal, audit, and compliance industry conferences.
With multiple law degrees and diverse language fluencies, she has served as a keynote speaker at more than 150 industry conferences, including to hundreds of general counsel from Fortune 1000 companies at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s 19th Annual SuperConference in Chicago, to hundreds of Spanish-speaking professionals at ISACA’s Latin America Computer Audit Control and Security Conference in Mexico City, and for the 2022 Cybersecurity Women of the Year Awards Gala in Las Vegas. Her research and scholarly work focus on multijurisdictional privacy and global security challenges that include severe repercussions for non-compliance. During National Cyber Awareness Month in October, Sanford served as a VIP speaker alongside Microsoft’s Deputy CISO during the 2021 and 2022 Microsoft Employee Giving Campaigns.
Sanford is a Principal at Sharakpur, Ltd and serves remotely as Of Counsel for one of Chile’s leading law firms, Puga Ortiz Abogados. She is also the Executive Director of ISSA-Los Angeles. Sanford previously served as an advisor to the World Economic Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative, delegate of the APEC CEO Summit, and on the Board of Directors of Amnesty International USA.
Sanford co-authored books on global risks and cyber threats that were adopted by Institute for Supply Management (ISM) for their centennial celebration and made available worldwide through the ISACA bookstore. She received the 2019 CSWY Cybersecurity Woman Law & Privacy Professional of the Year Award. Sanford has been featured in “Women in Security: Changing the Face of Technology and Innovation,” as well as by Top Cyber News Magazine, International Enforcement Law Reporter, and the 2023 March edition of Cyber Security Tribe, as part of the lead-up to International Women’s Day (IWD).
